Make a Korean Traditional Doll

Assalamualaikum. Kebelakangan ni terlalu banyak event and festival sempena upcoming Chuseok (perayaan Korea). Sampai tak tahu mana satu nak pergi dulu. And mostly FREE! So tak perlu keluarkan kos sangat except for transportation. Actually bukan time Chuseok je banyak event. InsyaAllah hari-hari biasa pun banyak, cuma kena rajin Google.

Semalam ktorg pergi Seoul Global Culture & Tourism Center to make a Korean Traditional Doll with Hanji! It's located at M Big Plaza, Myeongdong (bersebelahan dengan outlet Forever21). FYI, they also provide Hanbok trial for free! Make sure kalau datang Myeongdong jangan lupa datang sini, sebab most people yang datang Myeongdong mesti fikir nak shopping. So, rugi lah kalau datang Korea tak try pakaian tradisional dorang kan? :)

After sign up attendance kat pintu masuk workshop, ktorg ambil refreshment yang disediakan. Refreshment provided are Tteok (Korean Rice Cake) and beverage (semua boleh minum except for Let's Be Coffee). Then, ktorg pun ambil seats and wait for the session to begin.

Short briefing tentang community dorang and Chuseok by Miss Sofia. Sebelum ni dia pernah belajar kat Indonesia. So she can speak Bahasa Indonesia fluently! :D Then she introduced our Sonsaengnim (teacher) for the instruction session.

Masa yang diberikan 90 minit. So without wasting anytime, dengan lafaz bismillah ktorg pun start buat hanji doll by following the instruction. Kit provided : Few pre-cut coloured hanji paper, plastic doll and glue. Tu je! :)

Firstly, tampal jeogori (upper garment).

Tampal chima (skirt) and otgoreum (ribbon).

Tampal rambut tocang, mata dan mulut. Then kena coat patung ni guna gam lagi sekali supaya hanji paper tak berbulu bila dah kering nanti. Now, masa untuk keringkan hanji doll!

Dapat luggage tag as souvenir. Suka! :D

After an hour, inilah hasilnya! Agak comot but it's okay. First time buat lah katakan. Yang mana satu paling lawa? :D
